She was predeceased by : her husband William D. Slemp (Bill); her parents, Elbert Gilliam and Eva Dale Gilliam; her grandchildren, Brandon Phelps and Megan Phelps; and her siblings, Truman Gilliam, Helen Mullins, Clint Richardson, Albert Richardson and Effie Vest.
She is survived by : her children, Scott Slemp (Cindy), Diane Salyer and Cheryl Kilgore (Rod); her grandchildren, Landon Slemp, Mendi Phelps and Wrynn Dingus; and her caregivers, Chigger and Susie Mullins. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Hurricane Baptist Church, P.O. Box 3724, Wise, VA 24293.
