She was predeceased by: her parents, Francis Ovide DeCuir and Erma Cecil Jones DeCuir. She is survived by: her husband Robert G. Smith; and her daughters, Lyric Sweat and Jenny Bond. She is also survived by grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In a final act of generosity, Kay gave the gift of life through organ donation, helping others in need.
