He is survived by: his wife Joyce; his daughters, Pam Carter (John) of Austinville, VA and Melissa Ward (Mark) of Greenville, SC.; his grandchildren, Adam Carter (Caroline), Mariah Frost (Landon), Matt Ward (Alaina), Micaela Ward and Maggie Ward; his great grandchildren, Axel Carter, Brance Frost and Hattie Frost; his sister Anita Whittington (Burton) of Kernersville, NC; and his stepsister Sue Ward (Dennis) of Hillsville, VA..
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Freedom Baptist Church (2485 Chances Creek Rd, Fancy Gap, VA 24328).
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made to Freedom Baptist Church.
