He was predeceased by : his father Pete Fender; his sister Doris Lineberry; his nephew Avery Newman; his brother-in-law Larry Funk; and his cousin Robert Viars.

He is survived by : his son Jason Fender (Shelly); his mother Bobbie Newman Fender; his grandchildren, Hunter, Gage and Lane; and his sisters, Kimberley Cox and Kathy Funk.
