He is survived by: his wife Catherine Hartsell (McClanahan); his children, Bobby Hartsell and Alyssa Jackson; his grandchildren, Haily, Rylea, Levi, Kylea, Zadie and Clyde; his brother Charles Black; and his siblings-in-law, Ann McClanahan, Janis Spiliadis (Stavros), Susan Alexander (Keith) and Andy Barrick (Belinda). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
