He was predeceased by: his mother Eloise Black. He is survived by: his wife Catherine Hartsell (McClanahan); his children, Bobby Hartsell and Alyssa Jackson; his grandchildren, Haily, Rylea, Levi, Kylea, Zadie and Clyde; his brother Charles Black; and his siblings-in-law, Ann McClanahan, Janis Spiliadis (Stavros), Susan Alexander (Keith) and Andy Barrick (Belinda). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Heishman Funeral Service (159 N Main St, Woodstock, VA 22664). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Emanuel Lutheran Church (127 E High St, Woodstock, VA 22664-1732).
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to his favorite charity St. Judes Children's Research Hospital.
