He was predeceased by: his parents, James Sterner and Hazel Sterner (Martin) of Wyano; his wife Deborah Sterner (Balko); his daughter Marcy Gineris; and his brothers, James and Richard Sterner.
He is survived by: his daughter Lisa Sterner (Ashley Mullins) of Christiansburg, Virginia.; his son-in-law Jeff Gineris of Woodstock; his grandchildren, Kathrine Hullihen (Gineris) and Connor Lee Gineris of Woodstock; and his sister Nancy Paul of Greensburg. He is also survived by two great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
