He is survived by: his wife Dorothy "Dee" DeHart of Dee's Country Places; his son Lawrence Melvin "Booie" DeHart, Jr. (Sonya); his grandchildren, Tanner DeHart of Boston, Skyler DeHart Meadows (Nick) of Christiansburg and Bryce DeHart of Christiansburg; and his siblings, Eugene DeHart (Joyce), Elizabeth "Liz" Johnson of Woolwine and Ruth Scott (Larry) of Floyd.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Moody Funeral Services (202 W Blue Ridge St, Stuart, VA 24171). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Moody Funeral Home (202 W Blue Ridge St, Stuart, VA 24171).
