He was predeceased by: his parents, Dana Alvin and Ida Garrett Blevins; his wife Martha Phipps Blevins; his siblings, Eleanor Blevins Bunn (Don), Ann Blevins Helms (Roy), Keith Blevins (Jean) and Malcolm Blevins (Patty); his parents-in-law, Joseph and Susan Phipps; his brothers-in-law, Harold Phipps, Clarence Phipps, Warren Phipps and Bill Carr; and his siblings' children, Cynthia Hicks, Kevin Blevins and Craig Blevins.
He is survived by: his close friend Lynda Smith; his sibling's children, Sharada Beck (Darsey) and Darrell Hicks; his siblings-in-law, Paul Phipps, Mary Lee Phipps, Minnie Mae Phipps Carr and Rona Phipps; and his friend Bristol. He is also survived by several other nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
