He was predeceased by: his parents, James T. Cockrell and Gertrude F. Cockrell; and his brothers, Robert S. Cockrell and James Thomas Cockrell, Jr.. He is survived by: his children, Charles E. Cockrell Jr. (Drew) of Newport News and Suzanne Cockrell Giersch (Chris) of Virginia Beach; and his grandchildren, Matthew Cockrell, Megan Cockrell and Adam Giersch.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 6th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Zion United Methodist Church (2109 Seaford Rd, Seaford, VA 23696).
