With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Shakera Pearson (Yorktown, Virginia), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 24, 2026 at the age of 32. She was predeceased by: her grandfather Johnny "Mac" Pearson; and her niece Ashanti Maliya Whitlow. She is survived by: her parents, Shawna Pearson and Mark Jenkins; her children, Jatavion Pearson, Genesis Brooks and Kareemah Ballinger; her siblings, Malika Peartree and Quran Gregory; her grandmother Marianette Pearson; her siblings' children, Pender, Peartree, I, King and Qu-Vayah Gregory-Reynolds; her aunts and uncles, Kimberly Lloyd, Lisa Caudle, Chasity Perrin, William Lloyd (Darcy) and Marcus Perrin; her great-uncles and great-aunts, Shirley Combs, Gloria Nickelson (Chester) and Donald Blow; her aunt Kimberly Roberts; her uncle Lonnel Roberts; and her close friend Abel Cueto.
Viewing will be held on Saturday, March 7th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Grafton Baptist Church - Harris Grove (1301 Old York-Hampton Hwy, Yorktown, VA 23692). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 7th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
