We announce the death of Cynthia Hooker of Barre, Vermont, who passed away on July 3, 2026, at the age of 76. Cynthia will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Cynthia will be remembered for the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Cynthia will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture her life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Cynthia’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued her companionship.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond Coxon and Irma Coxon. She is survived by: her husband John Hooker; her children, Tammy Hooker and John Hooker (Colleen); her grandchildren, Brienne and Daxton; and her sisters, Judith Johnson (Sanford) and Sylvia Mitton (Bruce). She is also survived by 11 nieces and nephews; and countless honorary sons and daughters.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to the Christ Community Alliance Church Deaconate Board in Orange, Vt.
