He was predeceased by: his parents, Olin Smith and Phillis Smith; and his siblings, Joe, Scott Smith and Pamela Monroe.

He is survived by: his children, Tara Smith Caron (Tyler) of North Petersburgh, NY, Jerad Smith of Bennington, VT and Zach James of Woodford, VT.; his grandchildren, Isabella, Dustin Caron, Brody, Easton, Wrensly Smith and Ronan Mulligan; and his siblings, William Smith and Marilyn Gardner. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, along with a wide circle of friends.
