He was predeceased by: his parents, Horace Kent Wright Jr. (Dorothea Little Wright) and Kent; his wife Patricia A. Payne; his son H. Kent Wright IV; his daughter-in-law Yvette Wright; his great grandchild Dylan Bushey; and his siblings, Sharman, Larry, Roger and Aaron.
He is survived by: his children, Suzi Findley (Ron), Cindy Myrick (Steve Sr.) and Jerry Wright; his daughter-in-law Pat Wright; his nephew Kevin White; his grandchildren, Kel Wright (Ryan), H. Kent Wright V (Jessica), Billy Wright, Jason Barringer (Molly), Atlee Thurston (Taylor), Tim Wright (Tina), Michaela Bushey (Eric), Steve Myrick Jr. (Ashley Lane), Cybil Myrick (Jon Rigg), Silas Myrick, Marla Wright and Cale Wright; his siblings, Bev Leake, John Wright, Edwin Wright, Kurt Wright and Wendy Wright; and his siblings-in-law, Robert Payne, S. Keith Payne, Linda P. White, Linda B. Wright and Theresa Wright. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
