The family announces the passing of Joan LaRose in Burlington, Vermont on October 2, 2026. Joan, born on June 25, 1954 in Williamstown, Vermont, was part of many shared moments and relationships throughout life. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Warren Shangraw and Ruby Shangraw (Baker); and her brothers, Denny and Arthur Shangraw. She is survived by: her husband Andy LaRose of Edward's Catholic Church; her daughters, Patty LaRose and Bethany Vivian (Bill); her grandchildren, Lydia, Alex and Sophie; and her siblings, Lois Partlow (Terry), Steve Shangraw (Kim) and Andy Shangraw (Ann).
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Williamstown United Church (2374 VT-14, Williamstown, VT 05679). During the COVID-19 pandemic, Joan came out of retirement for a couple of years to continue caring for patients at Heaton Woods in Montpelier.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Williamstown United Church.
