It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joan P. Matanle of Burlington, Vermont, born in Rutland, Vermont, who passed away on February 13, 2026, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Austa Peterson (Myhre) and Henry Peterson; and her husband Jack Matanle. She is survived by: her children, Kristin Venden (Sean) and Craig Matanle (Lisa); her grandsons, Jack Venden, Henry Venden, Blake Venden, Owen Matanle and Emmett Matanle; her siblings, Carole Young (Alan) and Robert Peterson (Wendy); and her brother-in-law Clayton Stewart (Gaby). She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
