He was predeceased by: his parents, John J. McCormack and Winifred McCormack (Hunt); his wife Grace Mary McGraw; his siblings, Edward, Thomas McCormack, Jean Malley and Theresa McCormack; and his brothers-in-law, David (Mary), James and Edward McGraw.
He is survived by: his children, Sheila (Jeff), Mary, Kristina and John (Nina); his grandchildren, Jeffrey John, Thomas (Shauna) and Matthew Royer; his children, Jasper Gruel (Justin), Ryan, Jack Fitzgerald, Ciara Greenwalt (Gavin), Dylan Gumaer, Aiden and Abigail McCormack; his great grandchildren, Adeleine, Charlotte, Lydia Gruel and Olive Roisin Greenwalt; his sisters, Marie McCardle, Irene McCormack and Barbara Manie; and his sisters-in-law, Norma McCormack and Mary McGraw. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 23rd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Ready Funeral & Cremation Services South Chapel (261 Shelburne Rd, Burlington, VT 05401). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, November 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. John Vianney Catholic Church (160 Hinesburg Rd, South Burlington, VT 05403). A graveside service was held on Monday, November 24th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Resurrection Park Cemetery (55 Joy Dr, South Burlington, VT 05403).
For all his accomplishments and his contributions to both the University of Vermont and to the Burlington community, Jack will be remembered above all to those who knew him for his courtesy, kindness, quick wit, and his unending love for his family.
