It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Charlotte Ellen Bourn of Castleton, Vermont, who passed away on December 1, 2025, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. As Charlotte departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Charlotte may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Charlotte leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Edward and Grace Edna Ludden (Morgan); and her siblings, Almira M. Ludden, Caroline Shaw, Dorothy Greene and Henry "Pete" Ludden.
She is survived by: her sons, Thomas LaFountain of Castleton and Allan LaFountain of Rutland; and her sisters, Helen "Bunny" Facer of Fair Haven and Ruth Shackett of Fair Haven. She is also survived by several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 20th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Durfee Funeral Home & Cremation Service (119 N Main St, Fair Haven, VT 05743).
