He was predeceased by: his parents, Stanley A. Root and Helen Root (Lyman); and his brother Paul Root. He is survived by: his wife Andrea of Castleton; his daughters, Stephanie Donovan of Castleton, Elizabeth Pulsifer of Brandon, Jennifer Waite of Fair Haven and Barbara Scribner of Poultney; his stepchildren, Tina Whittamore of Castleton and Joseph Russell of Jeffersonville; and his brothers, Joseph Root of Hampton, NY, Peter Root of Castleton and Steven Root of Poultney. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren several nieces and nephews.
