He was predeceased by: his parents, Elizabeth Townsend and Robert Townsend; and his siblings, Carol Coffman, Kay Little and Larry Townsend.
He is survived by: his wife Bernice; and his children, Robert Townsend (Sharon), Susan VanKoevering (Michael) and Sandra Franklin (James). He is also survived by his 8 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the McClure Miller Respite House in Colchester, VT.
