He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Calvin and Florence Bidwell Carmichael of Winston-Salem, NC; his siblings, Elizabeth Carmichael Hedstrom of Hingham, MA and Richard Bidwell Carmichael of Pfafftown, NC; and his wife June Miles Carmichael.
He is survived by: his sons, James Patrick Carmichael (Pamela Ross) of Poland, ME and Robert Bidwell Carmichael of Burlington, VT; his sister-in-law Sandra Carmichael of Pfafftown, NC; his granddaughters, Lauren Carmichael (Andrew Robinson) of Cumberland, RI and Melinda Carmichael (Nicholas Patides) of Oldsmar, FL; and his great grandchildren, Kai Robinson and Zuri Robinson.
