He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold E. James and Florence James (Sharrow); his granddaughter Jenaya D'Amico; his siblings, Emerson James and Peggy Sheffer; and his nephew Steve James.

He is survived by: his wife Eleanor M Hams; his children, Darren James (Sandy), Melanie D'Amico, Nathan James (Goia) and Rebecca Davis (Ivan); his grandchildren, Jake D'Amico, Jordan D'Amico, Madison James, Ethan James, Michael Silvia, Olivia Fitzgerald, Leah Fitzgerald, Victoria Hong (Sean), Jennifer Hamilton (Josh) and Alex Prufer (Jasmine); his great grandchildren, Kyra Hong, Liora Hong, Vera Hong and Zeke Hong; and his brothers, Stanley James and Lloyd James. He is also survived by many nieces & nephews.
