He was predeceased by: his father Wayne M. Stearns Sr.. He is survived by: his mother Bernadette LaBerge; his significant other Nicole Marie; his significant other's children, Austin Friend and Ashley Friend (Josh); his siblings, Tammy Grant (Gary) and Eugene Stearns (Annie); his sister-in-law Jen Russell (Wayne Stearns Jr.); and his nieces and nephews, Gary (Tiffany), Geoffrey (Katie), Taylor (Reese), Logan and Ashtin.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Phil's name toward a scholarship to be named and established at a later date in his honor.
