He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Shappy and Marie Shappy (Nichols); and his siblings, John Shappy and Dolly. He is survived by: his children, Joan, Steve Peters, Ronald Jr. and Sandra Shappy; and his grandchildren, Jim, Holly (Shane), Jamie (Chris), Austin (Melissa), Brianna, Taylor, Autumn, Chesney, Gracie, Isaiah, Carter, Harper, Rhysand, Theodore, Emmett, Waylon and Mayzie.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the UVM Home Health and Hospice in Colchester https://www.uvmhealth.org. or Camp Ta-Kum-Ta in South Hero https://www.takumta.org hours will be held Friday Feb 20th, 2026 from 4:00PM-7:00PM in the Minor Funeral Home.
