She was predeceased by : her parents, Katherine Nerstheimer (Davidian) and Aloise Nerstheimer; her brother Alphonse Nerstheimer (late Leni); her nephew Ernie Nerstheimer; and her friend Vicki McDonald.

She is survived by : her husband Michael Showalter; her daughters, Christine Soychak of Enosburg Falls and Marianne McGrane (Thomas) of North Liberty, Iowa; her grandchildren, Michael McGrane, Katie McGrane, Christian Soychak and Alex Soychak; her brother Ernst Nerstheimer of Riverside; her son-in-law Ed Soychak of Fairfax; and her sister-in-law Joyce Sabins of Riverside.
