He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Gidney and Europa Gidney; and his siblings, William, Richard and Mittie Gidney.
He is survived by: his wife Jane Sprague; his grandchildren, Daniel Terhune, John Terhune, Rachel Fernandez and John Fernandez; and his sister Roberta Morse (Sherwood). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
