Joseph Vernon Yoder Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Joseph Vernon Yoder of Montpelier, Vermont, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 22, 2026 at the age of 70. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Yoder and Norva Yoder (Stephens). He is survived by: his wife Laura Schlivek; his sons, Paul Yoder of Barre and Eli Yoder (Amie) of Breckenridge, CO; his stepchildren, Mike Thomas of Florida, Ruth Blackwell (Aaron) of Rochester, NY and Walker Blackwell (Christiana) of Plainfield; his brothers, Larry Yoder (Stephanie) of Ohio and Edward Yoder (Ursula) of Florida; his grandchildren, Elsie Yoder, Felix Yoder and Ivy Yoder; his stepgrandchildren, Jules Blackwell and Azalia Blackwell; the mother of his children Margie Yoder; and his caregiver Kelley. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and his former wife.
