She is survived by: her children, Linden, J. Thomas, Chandler and John; her grandchildren, Haley, Lauren, Gailin, Mynard and Rebekah; and her sister Elizabeth.
Laurel Higgins died peacefully after a decade fighting Alzheimer's, which robbed her of all that she had held dear: her arts, her gardens, her music, her intellect and curiosity, and her independence.
