She was predeceased by: her parents, Maurice Newton and Mildred Newton (Pollard); her former spouse Wendall "Bud" Alexander; her husband Robert Griggs; her sons, Douglas, Sr., Paul, Carroll, Arthur and Alden Alexander; and her grandchildren, Rodney Barr and Leighton Alexander.
She is survived by: her daughter Virginia Barr (Michael) of Reading; and her grandchildren, Stephanie Alexander, Douglas Alexander, Jr. and Christopher Barr. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
Memorial donations are appreciated to the Springfield Humane Society or the Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Windsor.
