We are sad to announce that on April 23, 2025, at the age of 78, Gilbert Wales Chapman of Richmond, Vermont passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Gilbert leaves behind and his impact on the lives of his loved ones. Though Gilbert may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Ralph Chapman and Evelyn Chapman; his wife Mary Chapman; his daughter Tracy Chapman Granneman (Paul); his granddaughters, Lillian and Catherine; and his brothers, Keith Chapman and R. Leigh Chapman. He was also cherished by his daughter, son-in-law and granddaughters.
Visitation was held on Saturday, May 3rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Rose Room of Lupton Chapel (7233 Delmar Blvd, University City, MO 63130). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, May 3rd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Lupton Chapel (7233 Delmar Blvd, University City, MO 63130).
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions in his honor be directed to Lolly's Place, a program dedicated to educating children from diverse academic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
