He was predeceased by : his parents, James and Leona; and his brother-in-law George Kemp. He is survived by : his significant other Deb Chevrier; his son Adam Gilman; his siblings, Wayne King (Ann), Beverly Kemp and Debbie Gilbert; his nieces and nephews, Brian Kemp (Gina), Mark Kemp (Amy), Tyler Gilbert, Connor Gilbert, Kim Kemp (Bob Dugan) and Kelly Paradee (Bill); and his close friend Sam.

In memory of Gary, memorials in his name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105-9959.
