She was predeceased by : her parents, Kenneth C. Holmes and Irene Thompson Holmes; her husband John Austin; her daughters, Jan and Lynn Laberge; and her brothers, Clifton and Clayton Holmes.

She is survived by : her son Jay (Kenji); her son-in-law Joseph Laberge; her grandchildren, Robbie and Jackie Laberge; her siblings, Marjorie St. John, Lorraine St. Onge, Larry (Donna Holmes), Clint (Joyce Holmes) and Ray (Linda Holmes); her sisters-in-law, Sonia Holmes and Gail Holmes; her caregiver Maureen Maples; and also, Pat and Margaret Chagnon. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
