It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary E. Rivers (Saint Albans, Vermont), who passed away on November 20, 2025, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Oscar Patterson and Loretta Patterson (Boucher); her husband Bernard Rivers of Mary's Catholic Church; her sister-in-law Colleen Godin (John); and her brother Raymond Patterson (Sharon).
She is survived by: her children, Michael (Tina Rivers), Patricia (Jeffrey Collins), Laurie Rivers of Florida and Lisa (Jeffrey L'Esperance); her grandchildren, Nicole Beliveau (Aaron), Shannon Collins, Cody L'Esperance (Jennifer), Camden L'Esperance (Emma Duffy), Mallory Boudreau (Seth) and Amy Richard; her great grandchildren, Owen, Emilia Beliveau, Madelynn, Carter, Clay, Avery Jo L'Esperance, Maeve Boudreau, Jacob Longe and Mikayla Champagne; and her cousin Jackie Hosack. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 5th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Heald Funeral Home (87 S Main St, St Albans City, VT 05478). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, December 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Holy Angels Church (245 Lake St, St Albans City, VT 05478).
