He is survived by: his mother Phyllis Potter (McDonald) of Randolph Center; his wife Valerie Potter of Sharon; his children, Daniel Potter of Sharon and Tammy Weinberg of Raymond, Maine; his grandchildren, Jamie, Kylee, Ethan and Lily; and his siblings, Dale Potter of Sharon, Darryl Potter of Sharon and Darlene Miller of Tunbridge. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages everyone to honor David's memory by lending a helping hand to a neighbor, spending time outdoors with family, or making a memorial contribution to the Sharon Volunteer Fire Dept—just as David did throughout his life.
