He was predeceased by: his wife Bette Mitchell; his parents, Irene Mitchell and Lonnie Mitchell; his brother Jim Mitchell; and his niece Shannon Cole.
He is survived by: his children, Laura Mitchell, Nancy Mitchell, Brian and Scott Mitchell. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
