He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Wittenberg and Jean Wittenberg; his brother Eric (Cynthia); his wife Gail; and his stepson David Giller.
He is survived by: the mother of his children Barbara Wimmer (Erwin); his children, John Wittenberg (Jennifer), Carolyn Mathews and Craig Wittenberg (Gretchen); and his stepchildren, Bill Ranniger (Lisa), Dan Ranniger (Ann), Sidnie Seward (Tom), Mike Giller (Marre) and Susan Giller. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
