He is survived by: his wife Kathy Herndon; his sons, Louis (Gabrielle), Phillip and Nicholas Thompson (Markie); his stepsons, Kellan Herndon (Christie) and Trevor Post (Natalie); his grandchildren, Ainsley, Findlay, Clover, Leon, Rowan and Cedar; and his sisters, Renee Thompson, Kimberly Nelms and Paula Hall (Christopher). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
