He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald E. Ely, Sr. and Carole A. Campbell (Lovett); his stepfather William C. Campbell; and his grandparents, Frederick J. Lovett and Elinor M. Lovett (Richmond).
He is survived by: his daughter Kimberley M. Ely; his sisters, Karen A. Smith (Ely) and Colleen D. Merkle (Campbell); his granddaughters, Mary Jeannette, Jessica Marie and Nevaeh Marie; his uncles, Frederick Lovett and Lary Lovett; and his aunt Ann Johnson (Lovett). He is also survived by his niece, nephews and cousins.
