She is survived by : her parents, Merilee Erchinger and Rudy Erchinger; her husband Tom Hinz; her children, Thomas St. Jerome, Tigerlily Harmony, Mercedes Beth and Mariah Jean; her mother-in-law Donna Hinz; her brother Hans Erchinger-Davis; her sister-in-law Janel Erchinger-Davis; her nieces and nephews, Cora and Apollo; her aunt Carol; her uncle Ted VanZanden; her cousins, Chris Parkhurst and Ted Jon VanZanden; her son Jaden; her cousins, Pieter VanZanden (Lucy) and Anna Whelan (Charlie); and also, Jacob and Genevieve. She is also survived by other family members, friends.

In the shadow of the pandemic, a perfect storm of life challenges, relational strains, and serious mental illness hit Heidi this year, and on May 4, 2022, she took her own life.
