He is survived by: his wife Lois Patterson; his children, Bonny Lewis (Rick) and Devin Patterson (Karen); his sister Barbara Nyhuis; his grandchildren, Baylee, Juniper Lewis, Ashley, Jamie and Trevor Patterson; and his stepgrandchildren, Annelis Breed and Arianna Calvin.

In his honor, remembrances may be made to the Bellingham Food Bank, Whatcom Humane Society, or Whatcom Hospice House.
