He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Smith and Mattie Eurene "Brown" Smith of South Roxana, Illinois.; his wife Naomi Ruth Smith (Swarringin); his sons, Robert Dale Smith and Dennis Dean Smith; and his stepson Clarence W. Farris.
He is survived by: his siblings, Earl Smith of South Roxana and Karen Hayes of Hartford; his children, Betty J. Smith of Alton, Patty L. Weckhorst (Smith) of Hartford and David Smith of White Bluff; and his stepsons, Thomas Farris of Bethalto and Darrell Farris of Bremerton, WA. He is also survived by 25 Grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; and 15 great great grandchildren.
