He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Stanton and Monica Stanton. He is survived by: his wife Darleen; his children, Joe (Lisa), Patrick (Jodi), Heather (Tim) and Tom (Carrina); and his grandchildren, Calvin, Jack, Julia, Ruby, Sophie and Oliver.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Timothy Episcopal Mobile Ministry or Urban Grace Church.
