He was predeceased by: his parents, Amos McConnell and Della McConnell; his wife Bette Jane Johnson; his son John McConnell Jr.; his siblings, Glenna Crumpacker, Elizabeth Berg, Della Dean Flack, George "Bud" McConnell, Mike McConnell and Tony McConnell; and his great grandchild Tristan McConnell.
He is survived by: his children, Timothy McConnell (Kelly) of Clarkston, Jerry McConnell (Kathie) of San Antonio and Melanie Young (Bob) of Rathdrum, Idaho; his siblings, Pat Brockman of Seattle and Dave McConnell of Lewiston; his daughter-in-law Young Ai McConnell; and his grandchildren, Jennifer Lidar, Timothy McConnell Jr., Andrew McConnell, Mary McConnell of Philip McConnell, Mi Young Brady, Sarah Steward, Whitney Kelman, Nancy McConnell, Matthew McConnell and Aaron Goodlett. He is also survived by 23 great-grandchildren.
