It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard James Payette of Colville, Washington, who passed away on September 17, 2025, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. In the sacred silence of farewell, Richard is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Payette and Marie Payette (Stapleton). He is survived by: his wife Michelle; his sister Judy Payette; and his cousins, Darla (Ennie) and Denise (Mike). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Addy New Life (1472 Hwy 395 S., Addy, WA 99101).

Memorial contributions may be given to the Union Gospel Mission.

“So sorry to get this news. Richard was always the gentle one with a quick smile and so close to nature. I remember those innocent years when we were all meeting Tommy for the first time and it was just like All in the Family with Richard playing Meathead while poor Tommy was grinding his gears being the conservative dad trying to protect his girls. We somehow found a way to make it all work and Richard made me proud when he knocked down those walls and showed gentle love and understanding worked”
