He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Groom Sr. and Thelma Witt Groom; and his siblings, Earl "Bud" Groom Jr., Bess Bly, Earlene Boggs and Hubba Tate.
He is survived by: his wife Joan K. Elder; his children, Shane Groom (Kim) of Spokane, WA., Marty Groom (Stephanie) of Prosser, WA., Ty Groom (Kurd) of Frederick, MD. and Jodi Groom of Peoria, AZ.; and his siblings, Phil, Jack, Mona Waliser and Bitsy Livingston of Dayton. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Walla Walla Community Hospice, DHS Alumni Association, and United Brethren Church.
