He is survived by: his son Jack (Kevin); his wife Chris Whitely (Johnson); his sons, Sonny and Kevin; his child-in-law Shawnee Irish; his grandchildren, Braiden, Jameson and Kennedy; his sister-in-law Sue Whitely; and also Bill Whitely (Sandy). He is also survived by nieces, a nephew, cousins and in-laws.

“I will miss my friend Greg Whiteley. He was one of those childhood friends you never lose. Even when you don't see them for along time, you pick up right where you left off. Not the same as the new friends. He rode the bus home with me on the first day of second grade. Didn't tell anyone he was going to do that. The only guy either of us ever meant with the same name. We thought it was great. RIP my friend, Greg Summers”
