He was predeceased by : his parents, Jean Shimek and Otto Shimek; his grandparents, Leo and Rena; and his brother Richard Shimek.
He is survived by : his wife Yvonne Shimek; his children, Barbara (Mike Erickson), Brad (Heather), San Marcos and Brian of Albuquerque, NM; his granddaughters, Emma and Ava; and his brother Robert Shimek. He is also survived by extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to St. Thomas More School or Continuum Hospice of Snohomish in Gary's memory.
