He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Derting and Ruby Derting; his brothers, Larry, George and Wayne; his daughter Sandi Green; his grandson Caleb Goforth; and his son-in-law Madison Parker.

He is survived by: his wife Theo Beltz; and his daughters, Renee Hider (Karl), Christine Derting, Lori Parker, Shannon Caracol (Ray) and Erin Rand (Brad). He is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great granddaughter.
