Idar leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Idar’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. Though he is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support he offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Idar will carry forward his memory in their hearts.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Halver Fjarlie and Marie Fjarlie; his wife Barbara Sue Fjarlie; and his stepson Scott Handy. He is survived by: his daughters, Eleanor Borg (Dan) and Sylvia Fjarlie; and his stepchildren, Mark Handy (Kara) and Sarah Handy. He is also survived by extended family, grandchildren, and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Solie Funeral Home (3301 Colby Ave, Everett, WA 98201). A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Cypress Lawn Memorial Park (1615 SE Everett Mall Way, Everett, WA 98208).
