He was predeceased by: his brother Randy; and his son Evan. He is survived by: his wife Shannon Talcott; his son Connor (Kimberly); his granddaughters, Charlotte and Annabelle; and his brother Roger.

Ron donated his brain to the University of Washington Medical Center so others may live from the learnings of his cancer.
