Dennis Laine wrote a sympathy message

“I, knew Tom from the Naval Air Station , Alameda California, meeting in July 1968. We were both Apprentice's, me a Machinist Apprentice and Tom was a Maintenance Machinist Apprentice. Tom was a funny and likeable guy. Tom had quit the Naval Air Rework Facility sometime in the 1970's and I lost track of him. Until one day in Reno At Harrah's, as I was walking by a "21 Pit", this dealer said hello to me and he said "how's things at the Naval Air"? I, didn't recognize Tom at first until he jogged my memory. We, talked for awhile and Tom told me he had just gotten married and that he was going to Laughlin NV. as soon as Harrah's open it's new Casino down there. Tom said he couldn't wait to get out of Reno, because of the cold weather! This is the last time I saw Tom. In 1992 my wife and I stayed at Harrah's Laughlin, but couldn't locate Tom. Through the years I was always curious as to what happened to him. I had found that Tom was living in Washington state, but as life goes, never could connect with Tom. For one reason or another. To bad , because I really like the guy. Although I only knew Tom for a short time, I know that he will be missed by all who knew him. Rest in Peace, Tom your friend Dennis Laine”
